Dwight Stephenson Annual Hall of Fame Golf Classic – Another Year of Success!

Night at the Hard Rock, and day on the Golf Course…what a perfect combination! On Sunday evening, April 17th, 2011, the Hall of Fame Classic kicked off with its VIP party at the legendary Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in beautiful Hollywood, Florida. The evening at this exciting venue was filled with great food, great music, and the company of many of the NFL’s most memorable players. All of this was enhanced by the unique and exhilarating atmosphere only found at the Hard Rock. The reception included cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and dinner, as well as great live entertainment provided by the Final Countdown Band.  We thank all of those who participated in the event, the silent auction and the Super Bowl 2012 Ticket Raffle.

It was a Hard Rock night, followed by a memorable day on the golf course, as the Annual Dwight Stephenson Hall of Fame Golf Classic took place on Monday, April 18th, at the prestigious Weston Hills Country Club.  The weather could not have been more beautiful and enjoyable. Players were challenged with this demanding course, which had previously been home to the Honda Classic from 1992-1995, and currently hosts various LPGA and professional tour qualifying events.

Sponsors were presented with a unique opportunity to mix and mingle with some of Dwight’s Hall of Fame alumni and former Miami Dolphin teammates as they were teamed with NFL and Hall of Fame legends in a golf scramble tournament.  Legends of the National Football League from both past and present, all gathered together to do their part in supporting Dwight and his charitable Foundation.  Some of the HOF and NFL guests included Lem Barney, Nat Moore, Ted Hendricks, Ken Houston, Mark “Super” Duper, Leroy Kelly, Paul Krause, Larry Little, Mel Renfro, John Stallworth, and John Offerdahl to name a few.

The teams were able to put their golf skills on display and awards were given for the top finishers.  This year’s tournament winners were in 1st Place – Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino with HOF player Elvin Bethea and NFL player Darrell Fullington, 2nd Place – Go Tilt Construction with HOF player Ricky Jackson, and 3rd Place – Turnkey International with NFL player Bobbie Harden.  Congratulations also goes to Ed Zymroz from IES Commercial/HD Supply for winning the 2012 Super Bowl tickets!  Our second winner this year!
